Politics is a highly relevant and ambitious subject. From Brexit to Black Lives Matter, there has never been a better time to be talking to young people about political engagement. Students explore contemporary politics and the distribution of power in modern Britain, as well as political concepts, values, and ideologies. Students are equipped with the tools to analyse current affairs, think critically, and form their own judgements on important global issues.

Politics is taught at A Level, though younger students can get involved through GCSE Citizenship or informal Politics lessons, which provide a forum for the discussion of everything from the US elections through to artificial intelligence. Qualified Politics teachers have experience teaching A Level Politics in top UK schools and know the exam specifications inside out. Many are responsible for leading Politics and debating clubs and some, before they started teaching, spent several years shaping UK policy in the Civil Service, think tanks, or Non-Governmental Organisations.

Politics and Citizenship lessons focus on subject knowledge, essay writing and exam technique. Students become informed global citizens and confident public speakers. They become independent thinkers and master the art of writing original, scholarly essays. They perform excellently in public exams and a large number of students go on to read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at university.

"Jake has worked with our son on a weekly basis for the past 12 months. After a poor set of Year 12 end-of-year results, he was feeling very unmotivated and had low self-esteem. Jake has been incredible, supporting him academically and building his confidence. His lessons have actively involved our son in discussions and he has started to enjoy putting his ideas down in writing. The essay structures, model answers and effective revision strategies that Jake has introduced has made the subject feel a lot less overwhelming. Thank you!"

Parents of an A Level Politics student

"I have nothing but praise for Nathaniel. We have been incredibly impressed by his professionalism, knowledge, and adaptability. His teaching style has worked perfectly for my son - he has addressed specific weaknesses, and challenged him to think laterally. We’ve been amazed by the progress our son has made after only a few lessons and are delighted with his latest set of exam results."
