Psychology is a pioneering and thought-provoking scientific discipline. The word “Psychology” translates as ‘the study of the human mind and behaviour.’ As such, Psychology is woven into the fabric of human societies and everyday life. Qualified Psychology teachers are well-versed in the GCSE and A Level syllabi. Students explore a wide range of phenomena including social influence, memory, attachment and psychopathology. They develop strong research, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

Secondary students are from diverse backgrounds, with widely varying abilities and academic goals. Lessons are tailored to each child – from those requiring additional support, to those seeking academic challenge beyond the A Level curriculum. Teachers use a baseline assessment to identify priority topics. This informs a bespoke tutorial plan, designed to perfect each child’s subject knowledge and exam technique. Many of our Psychology teachers are GCSE and A Level examiners, which ensures they are up-to-date with the latest curriculum changes.

Due to high levels of demand, Psychology specialists also offer A Level taster lessons for Year 11 students, university guidance, and personal statement support. This has proven helpful for students wishing to study Psychology at university without prior experience. For Oxbridge applicants, a dedicated team of university specialists prepare students for interviews and admissions tests.

"Amy is an extraordinary teacher. She is super switched on, incredibly organised, and very professional. She brings powerpoints, flashcards, and exam questions each week, and delivers the content effectively, in a structured way to spot any knowledge gaps! My son loves the fast pace of her lessons and I really appreciate her constructive weekly lesson reports. She has made home schooling a very enjoyable process."

Mother of an A Level Psychology student

"My daughter benefited hugely from her morning with Aine. Until recently she has been unsure about what she wanted to study next year. Aine gave her real insight into life as a Psychology undergraduate student and went above and beyond to answer her questions in detail. Overall, a wonderful experience so thank you for all your help!"
