Biology is a high profile, rapidly developing field of research and an exciting subject to study. The course at primary level provides an introduction to the living world and teaches children the scientific skills to design and carry out investigations. At GCSE and A Level, our qualified Science teachers support students through the challenging and rigorous requirements of the syllabi. This includes teaching exam technique and model answers. Our Biology students develop an appreciation of the natural world and an understanding of the complex structures and functions of living organisms. From the genetic code to ecosystem relationships, students explore fascinating biological concepts at a micro and macro level.
At The Golden Circle, we are keenly aware that we are educating scientists of the future. Our teachers make abstract concepts understandable, by breaking them down into small chunks, and relevant by linking them to students’ interests and current affairs. We encourage our students to ask questions: How do viruses spread? How do tumours develop? Can we regrow body organs? How can we optimise our diet for our health and the planet? This makes lessons more memorable and learning more effective.
Our full time home school students conduct practical experiments which are safe and approved for a home classroom environment. At A Level, our home school students complete their required practicals at our partner exam centre, Tutors & Exams. Besides excellent academic results, we provide opportunities for students to discover their passions in STEM, and nurture their talents beyond the curriculum. Whether their interests lie in cellular biochemistry, food security, or machine learning, we encourage student engagement beyond the syllabus through exciting Science excursions and our EdTech partnerships.
