Eight weeks is a long time – so why not keep your children active over the summer holiday with an exciting and educational summer course? Summer programmes allow children to pursue their interests while encouraging independence and exposing them to different cultures and experiences.
Taunton School has been educating international students on their Summer School courses for more than 20 years, providing a wonderful balance of academic subjects, sports, activities, and educational trips.
Catering for children aged 8-17 years old, they offer a wide range of action-packed courses on their 56-acre site including:
- Junior and Senior Academic
- Junior and Senior STEM
- Junior Multi-Sport
- Junior Cookery
- Senior Future Business Leaders
- Senior Performing Arts
- Senior Golf and Tennis Academies
Children attending Taunton School Summer Schools receive 25 hours of formal tuition each week – a balance between first-class English lessons and exploration of their chosen academic interest. The rest of the day is spent enjoying the beautiful grounds of Taunton School, which is set within the rural county of Somerset in South West England. The school prides themself on creating a safe, happy, structured, and supportive educational environment that challenges, nurtures and inspire every one of their students.
Taunton School Summer School courses offer a genuine taste of British boarding school life and students take home with them memories, experiences, and friendships they will never forget. The courses run from Saturday 2nd July until Saturday 13th August.
Exploring British Culture
Over the duration of their course, children explore many different aspects of British culture, including the galleries and museums of London, the world- famous colleges of Oxford University, Shakespeare’s birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon, the Roman City of Bath, the historic city port of Bristol, and World Heritage Site of Stonehenge.
Excursions are also about having fun so some courses include trips to theme parks, beaches, and famous cities, as well as offering the chance to explore the outstanding natural beauty in the area surrounding Taunton School.
In the evenings, children stay busy through a wide-ranging extracurricular programme of sports, activities and workshops which cater to all interests and ages. From archery, fencing, zorbing, and sailing, to canoeing, climbing on the high ropes, croquet, T-shirt painting and horse riding!
Taunton School Summer School courses are designed to bring students together and grow cross-cultural friendships, as well as being full of fun and adventure. They give students the opportunity to build on their strengths and discover new talents. By the end of the course, students have tasted life as a British boarder, tried many new activities, and developed the confidence to pursue new interests and academic endeavours.
