Child Wellbeing|School Applications
Schools in the UK strive to provide inclusive education for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). For children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or another educational need, a strong Learning Support Department, differentiated resources, or a teaching assistant, can make all the difference.
Parents want to find a school that caters to their child’s needs and enables them to thrive academically both in and outside of lessons. This could be a SEND positive mainstream school or a SEND specific school, depending on the level of support that their child requires. From education consultancy, to specialised tutoring, this is where our team of expert educators at The Golden Circle are on hand to help. We meet with families to understand their child’s unique needs and short list schools to find the perfect match.
Following this, we offer specialised tutoring to enable children to make a smooth transition to their new school and stay on top of the curriculum. We recognise that every child learns differently, and for students with SEND, personalised strategies are the key to unlocking their full potential. Our team is made up of highly experienced educators, including SENCos (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), specialist SEND teachers, Inclusion Coordinators, and Heads of Year. Together, they are well-equipped to support students with a range of needs, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, and ADHD.
Finding The Right School for Your Child
The Golden Circle’s team of education consultants provide expert insight into London’s independent schools, international schools, and British boarding schools. We help families find the right fit school for students by considering a child’s academic profile, needs, and character. We are renowned for finding education options which draw on each child’s unique talents and, most importantly, finding a match where they will be happy.
Schools that we have recommended to families with children who have SEND, and where Golden Circle students continue to thrive, include:
Finton House
Finton House is a co-educational inclusive prep school in Wandsworth for children between 4-11 years old, with a strong family ethos. The school was founded in 1987 with two founding principles: a non-selective intake and a fully inclusive education. The school motto ‘Open Hearts and Guiding Hands’ sums up the warm and caring relationships between students, parents, and teaching staff. Their strong learning support department is particularly good at supporting children with dyslexia.

How The Golden Circle Supports Children with SEND
The Golden Circle takes a personalised approach to education, for children who need additional one-to-one support. Here’s what we offer to families with children with SEND:
Specialist Teacher Matching
Our teacher matching process ensures that students are paired with an educator who can cater to their specific needs. Parents share details about their child’s learning style, current challenges, and goals. Based on this, we recommend teachers with the appropriate qualifications and experience, whether that’s a subject specialist familiar with a specific exam board or a SENCo adept at supporting neurodivergent students.
Personalised Learning Plans
Lessons are designed to suit the child’s preferred learning style, pace, and interests. Teachers adapt their approach, whether that’s breaking down complex concepts, using multisensory techniques, or implementing strategies like visual schedules for students with autism.
Pastoral Expertise
Many of our teachers have held pastoral roles in top UK schools, equipping them to support students holistically. They understand the emotional and social challenges SEND students may face and incorporate strategies to build confidence and resilience alongside academic skills.
Continuous Feedback and Adjustment
Our team stays in regular contact with families, ensuring that progress is being made and parents are satisfied with their child’s support. If a teacher isn’t the right fit, we quickly find an alternative to maintain continuity in the child’s learning journey.
Co-Curricular Opportunities to Build Confidence and Social Skills
At The Golden Circle, we believe education extends beyond the classroom. Our co-curricular activities – such as Art at local galleries, forest school in the park, or investing for beginners – offer students the chance to explore new interests, develop skills, and boost confidence. These activities are especially valuable for children with SEND, helping them build resilience, improve social interaction, and discover their passions.
Engaging in these courses provides a supportive environment for growth, allowing children to thrive and gain confidence in their abilities. With expert guidance, they’ll develop new skills, collaborate with peers, and strengthen their self-esteem, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Success Stories: Empowering SEND Students
One of our proudest achievements is seeing children with SEND thrive. Whether it’s helping a child with ADHD improve focus and achieve top grades or enabling a student with dyslexia to develop effective study techniques, our approach fosters growth and confidence.
“Marco is a fantastic martial arts teacher for my son. He is relatable, motivating and a great role model. My son has ADHD and so much energy in the classroom. Martial arts has enabled him to channel this energy in a positive way. The breathing techniques and self defence activities that they practice together have really helped my son to focus, exercise self control, and regulate his emotions.”
– MOTHER OF A YEAR 4 STUDENT
“Toby has taught our daughter for the past two years. My daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia in Year 11 and enjoyed but struggled with essay-based subjects. Toby has worked tirelessly to support her with the step up to A Levels, to build her confidence, and to equip her with the tools she needs to write concise, well-structured essays. Toby has delivered outstanding academic lessons and been instrumental in helping her to develop effective revision strategies. We feel very lucky to have found Toby who has gone above and beyond!”
